VR1 LicenseVR1 Licence gives authority to transport an Abnormal load when the overall dimensions exceed 5m wide The VR1 (like a BE16 Authroisation) is a legal document obtained from the Highways Agency on behalf of The Secretary of State for Transport. The VR1 Licence will only be issued when the applicant can supply written evidence that part or all of the proposed itinerary for the Abnormal load cannot be taken by alternative methods i.e. canal barge or sea freighter A comprehensive route survey is required to determine suitable for an Abnormal load and accessibility at all slip roads and junctions etc.. The Highways Agency can take up to 6-8 weeks to process some Permit applications EAF will undertake all correspondence to obtain the VR1 Licence on your behalf & can supply all technical calculations & indemnities required by the Highways Agency.
