Abnormal Load Services
Wide loads / High Loads / Long Loads / Heavy Loads Convoi
A UK Permit is mandatory for Abnormal Loads or wide loads if the overall dimensions exceed any of the following:
18.65m long x 2.90m wide or Over 44000kgs up to 80000*kgs Notifications for Abnormal Loads are required for each regional Police & Highway authority along the itinerary. Height There is no statutory limit governing the overall height of an Abnormal Load, however, if the Convoi has loaded dimension between 4.50m – 4.95m high, we can supply a route plan in order to maximise the use of the motorway and truck road network, making the delivery of your abnormal Load cost effective. However, if your convoy is over 4.95m high you will require a Pilot Escorts
Length The Abnormal Load permit is only valid up to 30.00m, anything over this will also require a Highway Authority Special Order BE16 Authorisation, this Abnormal Load Permit can be obtained in a 6-8 weeks maximum. The Abnormal Load will also require a Pilot Escorts
Width The Abnormal Load Permit is only valid up to 5.0m, anything wider will also require a Highway Authority VR1 License, which can be obtained within 6-8 weeks. Width exceeding 6.1m will also require a Highway Authority Special Order BE16 Authorisation Pilot Escorts are required if the Load is over 3.45m
Weight The Abnormal Load Permit is only valid up to 80,000kgs, anything exceeding 150,000kgs will also require a Highway Authorities Special Order BE16 Authorisation, which can be obtain within 6-8 weeks
